Bakong Temple, Siem Reap Province, Cambodia


Bakong is the first temple mountain of sandstone constructed by rulers of the Khmer empire at Angkor near modern Siem Reap in Cambodia.

Preah Ko, Siem Reap Province, Cambodia


Preah Ko  (Khmer, The Sacred Bull) was the first temple to be built in the ancient and now defunct city of Hariharalaya (in the area that today is called Roluos), some 15 kilometers south-east of the main group of temples at Angkor, Cambodia. The temple was built under the Khmer King Indravarman I in 879 to honor members of the king's family, whom it places in relation with the Hindu deity Shiva.

Religions

Depend on Khmer history, from the first to fourteen century, Cambodians have respected Hindu that has Sri Murti like Brahma, the God that creates the universe, Shiva, the God that creates the universe and destroys the sin and Visnu, the God that protects the universe from the Asura or the bad beings.
Ancient Cambodian History has divided into 3 three big generations like Pre-Angkorean (Phunan from 50-550 AD, and Chenla from 550-802 AD) Angkorean from 802-1421 and the middle period from 1421 to 1863 AD.







Cambodian civilization influenced by Indian cultures like religions, Buddhism, Hinduism. Nowadays, Cambodian people respect Buddhism. they always go to the monastery to give food to the monks for praying to ancestors. Moreover, they believe in Pala and Krama Theory in Buddhism.

It is a non-profit website but it shows many things about Cambodia, like temples, culture, Cambodian King History, religions and Cambodian lifestyles.

There are many famous temples in Cambodia. In Siem Reap Province, Angkor Wat is the wonderful structure in the world. Many tourists always visit here from all over the world. When you read my website, you will know many temples in my country.

Furthermore, there are interesting and strange cultures that are different from the western countries. People in Cambodian respect their culture and they are friendly to the visitors.

In the website also shows the history of Cambodia and the name of Khmer Kings from the 1st century to present, too.

In addition, you will know the religions in Cambodia. The official religion is Buddhist and the are different mores like Islam, Christian.

Most of all, you will be interested the way that Cambodian people live and earn. They are very industrious. 90 percent of them are farmers.
